This one day, practical workshop with Susie Carlino will give you the essential knowledge and skills to be able to drape freestanding, fabric walls creatively and safely for any event or venue. You will learn about the fabrics, materials and equipment required to dress walls in any number of styles in order to achieve something truly special and unique.

A must for events and hospitality professionals who want to learn how to transform their own venue/s or for anyone wanting to learn how to dress a venue in order to create the wow factor!

Workshop Content

The following areas will be covered during this one day workshop:

  • Draping styles and designs for walls and how to achieve them, drawing upon Susie’s significant experience and knowledge.
  • Includes flat drapes, soft pleating, curtain drops, trims & valances
  • Selecting fabrics to achieve texture, weight and sound to achieve different looks
  • What venues determine the fixings used and how to achieve this
  • The equipment you need to hang the drapes
  • Calculating of fabric lengths, quantities and costing
  • Practical requirements including access required, health & safety requirements
  • Techniques for temporary fabric walls without attaching or damaging the venue

Thanks to Susie’s expertise and practical know how, this workshop will enable you to transform plain and unsightly walls into luxurious and beautiful event spaces for weddings, gala dinners, conferences and all types of corporate events.

Workshop Details

Workshop Cost: £350.00 (inc. VAT)

Timings: The workshop commences at 9.30am and will finish at approximately 3.30pm (6 hours)

Refreshments: Light refreshments provided (tea & coffee, water). Please bring your own lunch.

What to wear: As it’s a practical course, we would recommend comfortable shoes and clothing.

What to bring: Just yourself and something for lunch.

All necessary tools and equipment will be provided by Susie and you will be able to take away any samples pieces you make during the workshop. We would also recommend bringing a camera or using your phone to photograph your progress, step-by-step. All students will receive a certificate on completion of the workshop.

Where: All workshops will take place at Susie’s studio in  Dunstable. Parking is available on the street.
